Do you know what the TED talks are?
According to the website…
“TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
The annual conference now brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).
This site makes the best talks and performances from TED available to the public, for free.”
Famous figures like Bono, Bill Clinton, Richard Branson, JJ Abrams, and Malcolm Gladwell have all given their most enticing life lessons… in 18 minutes.
This particular clip features Tony Robbins, the world famous speaker, coach, and peak performance trainer.
Here are a few of the points that are covered in Tony’s talk:
* Effective leaders have the ability to consistently move themselves and others to action because of the “invisible forces” that shape us (he explains what these forces are!)
* Most people believe that biography is destiny. Your past equals your future. The truth is, the ultimate power is CHOICE
* It’s not the lack of resources that shape your destiny, it is the power of your resourcefulness that shapes your destiny
* You can gain significance in a variety of ways but it is a different matter altogether to be SIGNIFICANT
*Life’s not about “me” it’s about “we”. The reason we grow is so that we have something to give to the world. To contribute beyond ourselves. And if you’re not giving, you’re dying.
Here are some humorous scenes:
* Tony high five’s Al Gore for a VERY funny reason
* Tony is a MASTER of the cliffhanger, and actually gets more than 18 minutes because he has the audience (and us) spellbound
* Tony is a storyteller extradordinaire and keeps the audience riveted with his captivating ability
Enjoy!
