What do Frank Kern, John Carlton, and Yanik Silver Have in Common?

Many top marketers preach some great methods to build credibility and trust with your prospects.

You may have heard of building Authority, creating Social Proof, and the principle of Liking.

But only a few marketers that I know of embody this particular credibility principle I’m about to share with you.

Can you guess what it is?

It’s Representation.

What Frank Kern, John Carlton, and Yanik Silver have in common is that they LIVE the LIVES that we aspire to have.

(NOTE - This is just my personal opinion of course. Maybe you have different goals, but in my experience, these 3 possibly do the best job - of all the marketers in our space - of embodying this principle. I just wanted to share the CONCEPT of Representation with you.)

Let me explain.

Frank Kern is as against the norm as you can get. As a brilliant Internet Marketer, he’ll produce a 7 figure product launch, then disappear for a few years to surf, play video games, and just hang out.

You never know when he’ll pop up on the scene again, what he’ll say, or what he’ll do.

If you’ve heard him speak, you know that he shocks people by swearing profusely, being notoriously laid back, and just going sharply against what a typical Internet “Guru” stands for or does.

NOW… I am sure that a huge part of this image is pre-meditated and well thought out… but on the other hand, the simple fact that Frank does what he wants, makes us yearn for that kind of a lifestyle.

It’s brilliant.

John Carlton is another guru who embodies the principle of Representation.

John is a private, limelight recluse. The present day equivalent of the “wise man at the top of the mountain.”

The teacher who is so enlightened that he sits alone in the wilderness (of Reno) and cranks out earth shattering copy with one hand, while cranking out a blues riff on his Fender in the other.

He once got so disenchanted with the business world that he took 2 full years off to travel with his band and play the bar and club circuit.

Oh yeah, then one day he came back like nothing happened and began churning out world class copy again.

His skills afford him the luxury, like Frank, to do what he pleases, when he pleases.

It’s what we aspire to be. (www.John-Carlton.com)

Yanik Silver is probably the king of Representation.

Yanik has an entire blog dedicated to the lifestyle he lives as an Internet Marketer.

Yanik doesn’t just have an information publishing empire, he lives a wacky and fun lifestyle.

He talks about his beach volleyball exploits, has video about dune bug racing, and always seems to be on vacation somewhere.

Seriously, whenever I read a blog post or email from Yanik, I feel like he just ran off the beach volleyball court, has a tropical drink in one hand, and is cursing because he just got some sand on his laptop.

He Represents the lifestyle we all want.

To recap… this is just a principle for you to think about.

Of course the other principles of credibility building are essential. Your prospects have to trust you and know that others have had success with your products and services.

But one of the most powerful principles you can apply is to simply LIVE the desired lifestyle that everyone else wants. And tell people about it.

If it’s clear that your sun drenched existence was made possible through your Internet Marketing exploits… that’s a powerful credibility builder.
